The Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training has announced the official commencement dates for the second term of the 2025–2026 academic year.
In a circular dated December 11, 2025, issued by the Chief Education Officer, school administrators were advised that teachers and ancillary staff are required to report for duty on Monday, January 5, 2026, to facilitate planning and preparation activities ahead of the new term.
According to the notice, students will return to school on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
School administrators have been asked to ensure that all staff members and parents are informed of the start dates and that appropriate arrangements are in place to support a smooth and effective opening of the term.
The Department of Education has also extended holiday well-wishes to administrators, staff and students, thanking them for their continued cooperation and commitment to the effective operation of schools across the island.
