Saint Lucia will have two chances to claim a regional pageant crown in 2027, with Faith Edward and Nyaley Lewis set to take the island’s talent, culture and Carnival pride to competitions in Dominica and St. Maarten.
Lucian Carnival announced the assignments on Monday, October 26, confirming that Edward will compete in the Miss OECS Pageant on January 28, while Lewis will represent the country at the St. Maarten Carnival Caribbean Queen Pageant on April 22.
For both Carnival queens, the appearances will extend their roles beyond the national stage, placing them before regional audiences as competitors and cultural ambassadors.
Edward will head to Dominica for a pageant themed “Island Flames – United in Beauty and Purpose.” The competition brings together young women from across the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to celebrate talent, culture, beauty and leadership.
Lewis will take the Saint Lucian flag to St. Maarten, where “Crowning the Culture” will be the theme of a competition showcasing Caribbean heritage and Carnival traditions.
Trevor King, chair of the National Carnival Queen Pageant Committee, expressed confidence in the two representatives.
“They embody the beauty, confidence, and cultural pride of Saint Lucia,” King said.
He added that the committee expects both women to represent the country with grace and make the nation proud.
Their regional appearances will also provide a platform to promote Saint Lucia’s Carnival heritage, giving audiences an opportunity to experience elements of the island’s culture through its representatives.
As preparations begin, Lucian Carnival is calling on the public, corporate partners and well-wishers to support both queens ahead of their respective competitions.
Edward will be first to step onto the regional stage in January, with Lewis following in April—two opportunities for Saint Lucia to turn national pageant success into regional recognition.
