LUCELEC has paid tribute to Director Evaristus Jn. Marie, describing him as a leader whose wisdom, integrity and steady leadership left a lasting mark on the company and the wider business community following his passing.
In a statement issued Monday, the electricity company said its Board of Directors, Management and Staff were deeply saddened by the loss of Jn. Marie, who served on the LUCELEC Board from November 2021 as the National Insurance Corporation’s representative.
During his tenure, Jn. Marie served on nearly every Board Committee and, in 2023, was appointed Chairman of Energyze Holdings Inc. (EHI), LUCELEC’s subsidiary company, where he played a key role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction.
LUCELEC Managing Director Gilroy Pultie reflected on the impact Jn. Marie had on the organization, describing him as an exceptionally sharp and thoughtful leader whose professionalism was matched by genuine compassion.
Pultie said Jn. Marie communicated with clarity and conviction while always demonstrating patience, balance and respect for others. He added that the late director’s wisdom, sincerity and unwavering concern for people’s well-being earned him the admiration of colleagues across the company.
“His legacy will endure at LUCELEC and across the many institutions and lives he touched,” Pultie said, noting that his presence and leadership would be greatly missed.
The company said Jn. Marie’s distinguished service, thoughtful leadership and unwavering commitment made a meaningful contribution to LUCELEC and its subsidiary companies. His counsel, insight and dedication, it added, will be fondly remembered by fellow directors, management and staff.
LUCELEC extended heartfelt condolences to Jn. Marie’s family, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives were touched by his service and leadership.
