Freak Crash on Julien Alfred Highway Claims Life of Minibus Operator

Must Read

Castries, Saint Lucia – A tragic twist has emerged from a freak accident that occurred three weeks ago on the Julien Alfred Highway, claiming the life of James Peter, a well-known minibus and heavy equipment operator.

Saint Lucia Daily Post has confirmed that Peter, who initially survived the devastating crash with severe injuries, has now succumbed after being readmitted to the hospital.

On the day of the crash, Peter, a registered minibus owner and operator on the Castries to Vieux Fort route, was trapped inside the truck he was driving and required emergency extrication. His injuries were so severe that doctors had no choice but to amputate both his legs.

Despite the life-altering ordeal, Peter showed resilience and was discharged from the hospital about a week ago. However, his health quickly deteriorated, before he tragically passed away.

This incident has reignited discussions on road safety along the Julien Alfred Highway, a critical transportation corridor. Authorities and motorists are being urged to exercise greater caution to prevent future tragedies.

Saint Lucia Daily Post extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of James Peter during this difficult time.
