Castries, Saint Lucia – A major motor vehicular collision in Marchand on the night of January 30, 2025, saw three vehicles involved in a rear impact and rollover accident, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
The Saint Lucia Fire & Ambulance Service received the call at 9:02 PM and swiftly responded to the scene, where they found a grey Nissan Almera overturned on the right side of the road. A Toyota Vitz, registered PQ5605, had sustained rear-end damage, while a Mitsubishi L300, registered PKS137, was found across the road.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the Toyota Vitz was struck from behind, causing it to roll over and collide with the parked Nissan Almera. The drivers involved were identified as Hubert McDonald, 53, from Marchand; Sade Edward, 24, from Talvan, Babonneau; and Miguel Remy.
Despite the severity of the accident, all three individuals declined medical treatment, showing no apparent injuries at the time. They signed medical release forms, confirming their refusal of transport to a medical facility. Emergency responders, including an ambulance crew from Babonneau Fire Station, responded to the incident.
Authorities are reminding motorists to exercise caution on the roads, particularly at night, to prevent similar incidents. The investigation into the exact cause of the crash remains ongoing.
