Two Men Arrested and Charged Following Major Drug and Firearm Seizure

Two men have been charged in connection with a major drug and firearm seizure that took place on January 1, 2024, in Cas En Bas, Gros-Islet.

According to a statement from the Communications Unit of the Royal St Lucia Police Force, the operation led to the confiscation of 289 packages of cocaine, weighing 315.34 kilograms, along with a 9mm firearm, 22 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and one round of 5.56mm ammunition. Following this discovery, Troyson and Kendy Isidore were arrested and later charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of Controlled Drugs
  • Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply
  • Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition

In addition, Troyson Isidore faces a separate charge of Assault with a Firearm stemming from an unrelated investigation.

On January 6, 2024, both men appeared before the First District Court for bail proceedings. While Troyson Isidore was granted bail of 3,000 Eastern Caribbean Dollars (XCD) for the assault charge, both suspects were remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility for the drug and firearm-related charges.

Police say the arrests mark a significant development in the fight against organized crime in Saint Lucia. Law enforcement has also emphasized their commitment to combating drug trafficking and the illegal possession of firearms.
