A 26-year-old Castries man wanted by French authorities for armed robbery and firearm-related offences has been extradited from Saint Lucia to Martinique, where he had already been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Terry Bradley of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s Special Services Unit confirmed that Jahvis Marlon Alfred, a resident of Wiltons Yard, was surrendered to French authorities on Thursday, September 17.
The extradition was carried out through established legal and judicial cooperation mechanisms between Saint Lucia and France.
According to Bradley, Alfred was wanted by French authorities on multiple counts of armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of firearms and ammunition, and other firearm-related offences. The Criminal Court of Martinique sentenced him to 15 years’ imprisonment on November 19, 2021.
Alfred was arrested in Saint Lucia during an operation on February 7, 2026, and subsequently remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility on a provisional arrest warrant while awaiting extradition.
Bradley underscored the wider message behind the extradition, pointing to the importance of international cooperation in pursuing criminal matters that cross jurisdictions. Leaving the jurisdiction where an offence occurred, police stressed, does not bring an investigation or judicial process to an end.
