One man is dead following a shooting incident in Gros Islet on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Josiah Harmond aka Ned, a resident of Gros Islet. Reports indicate that Harmond was shot along Dauphin Street by an assailant on a bike. He was transported to hospital via private means, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:23 p.m. while undergoing surgery.
This latest incident adds to the island’s troubling wave of violent crime. To date, Saint Lucia has recorded 48 homicides for the year.
Police investigations are ongoing.
