On Monday, December 23, 2024, the Special Operations Team of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) conducted an exercise in Northern Division.
During the operation, officers carried out a series of stops and searches. A total of fifty-six (56) individuals were searched and seven (7) motorcycles were impounded for various offenses.
About 4:40 p.m. officers stopped and searched a suspicious male. During the conduct of the search one (1) Glock 9×19 pistol equipped with an auto sear and sixteen (16) rounds of 9mm ammunition was recovered.
The male suspect was identified as twenty-three-year-old (23) Kyle Castello was arrested and subsequently charged with of Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Ammunition. Kyle Castello made a bail application, but has been remanded into custody.
