A Saturday evening shooting in Victoria, Choiseul, has claimed the life of 24-year-old Martinus Alexander of Wingsville, Soufriere, prompting a police homicide investigation.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, officers attached to the Choiseul Police Station received a report of the shooting at approximately 7:32 p.m. on October 17, 2026.
Alexander sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by ambulance to Soufriere Hospital for medical attention. He subsequently succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Police have not disclosed a possible motive or announced any arrests in the release.
Investigations are continuing, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
