Three matches remain for each Premier League team. For clubs chasing the top four, those games could keep their title hopes alive. For teams near the bottom, they could decide who stays in the top flight.
The race moves to the La Ressource Playing Field in Mabouya Valley, where the Saint Lucia Semi-Professional Football League will stage the final rounds of its Season 3 regular season from November 6 to 22.
The opening double-header on Friday, November 6, starts at 7 p.m. with Laborie taking on Mon Repos in a Tier 2 Group B clash. Premier League promotion is at stake, giving both teams a chance to strengthen their bid for a place in the top flight.
At 9 p.m., hosts Mabouya Valley face Anse La Raye in the Premier League. Both sides are looking to improve their positions heading into the closing stretch, when dropped points could prove costly in the fight for a top-four finish or survival.
Friday’s action is the first of three consecutive days of football at La Ressource, with double-headers also scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Semi Pro Chief Executive Officer Alvin Malykhan said performances in the remaining fixtures will go a long way toward deciding how the season ends.
“With the regular season entering its final stretch, the stakes could not be higher. Teams are fighting for championship glory, promotion and survival, and there is very little room for error. We expect an intense and exciting finish, with players giving everything for their clubs and supporters,” Malykhan said.
The league is calling on fans across Saint Lucia to turn out for their teams at the La Ressource Playing Field through November 22.
