The milestone anniversary was officially launched at the Bay Gardens Hotel’s Bougainvilla Conference Room, where an exciting lineup of celebrations for 2025 was unveiled. At the heart of the event was the introduction of the Bay Gardens Community Fund, a transformative initiative dedicated to youth empowerment, sustainability, and cultural preservation. To drive its mission, the fund has appointed three distinguished ambassadors: entertainer Ezra D’ Fun Machine as Cultural Ambassador, cricket legend Daren Sammy as Youth and Sports Ambassador, and Helen’s Daughters as sustainability partners.
Bay Gardens Resorts’ Executive Director, Sanovnik Destang, reflected on the company’s journey, highlighting its growth and impact. “The most rewarding part of this journey isn’t just our expansion, but the development of our people and the difference we continue to make in the community.” Looking ahead, he teased major upcoming milestones, including the launch of Sapphire Sands Villas, a new pinnacle of luxury under the Bay Gardens brand.
Founder Joyce Destang took a heartfelt look back at Bay Gardens’ humble beginnings. “In 1994, my husband and I took every penny we had and started with 45 rooms on this plot of land,” she shared, expressing gratitude to the long-serving staff who have been the backbone of the company’s success.
Minister of Tourism Dr. Ernest Hilaire lauded Bay Gardens as a model for successful local ownership, while Bank of Saint Lucia reaffirmed its partnership, pledging sponsorship for the resort’s Taste The Bay food festival and community fund.
