The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) responded to a total of fifty-eight emergency calls between 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20 and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, reflecting a busy weekend for emergency personnel across the island.
Among the incidents recorded were two motor vehicular accidents and a reported shooting, all of which required urgent medical intervention.
In the early hours of Saturday, February 21, emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 1:50 a.m. to a motor vehicular incident along the Bexon Highway.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male lying on his back. An initial assessment revealed a laceration to the back of the head along with burn marks beneath the neck and shoulder area. The injured man was treated on scene before being transported to a medical facility for advanced care.
Just hours earlier, at about 2:37 a.m. on Friday, February 20, fire officers responded to another motor vehicular incident at Bocage in Castries. A 55-year-old male was reportedly struck by a reversing four-ton truck. When emergency personnel arrived, the victim was awaiting ambulance assistance.
Assessments revealed trauma to the head and injuries to the lower extremities. He was stabilised and transported to hospital for further medical treatment.
Later that same evening, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in Ciceron. On arrival, responders discovered an adult male lying face down in a drain. The individual was unresponsive and showed no vital signs. A single penetrating wound was observed to the upper right chest region. Emergency personnel immediately initiated life-saving interventions before transporting him to a medical facility for advanced medical attention.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service has not released further details regarding the conditions of the individuals involved. Authorities continue to urge members of the public to exercise caution on the nation’s roads and to cooperate with ongoing investigations where necessary.
