The desperate search for two men still missing following Sunday’s deadly marine collision off Anse Cochon resumes Tuesday, as authorities continue an extensive operation across waters off Saint Lucia’s west coast.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) said officers from its Marine Unit resumed search and rescue operations at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, combing the waters around Anse Cochon in an effort to locate the two missing men. Despite hours of searching, the operation ended without any sightings.
Search teams covered an area extending approximately two nautical miles west of Anse Cochon, stretching south to Canaries Bay and north to Anse La Raye. After returning to base, officers launched a second search later in the day, but again came up empty-handed.
The latest update means the operation has now entered a second consecutive day, with hope remaining that the missing men can still be located following the tragedy that has already claimed two lives and left several others injured.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force says it will provide further updates as the operation continues and more information becomes available.
