Ezra D Fun Machine and Kisha Kay emerged victorious in the 2026 Power Soca Monarch and Groovy Soca Monarch competitions respectively, following a closely contested night of performances at the SAB in Vigie, Castries, on Friday, July 10.
For Ezra D Fun Machine, the victory marks his second Power Soca Monarch title, further cementing his status as one of Saint Lucia’s leading soca performers. Kisha Kay, meanwhile, made history by capturing her first Groovy Soca Monarch crown, becoming the first female artiste ever to win the Groovy Soca Monarch title.
Ezra D Fun Machine captured the Power Soca Monarch title with his song “Salute,” securing 384 points and edging out second-place finisher Shemmy J by a single point. The narrow victory earned him the coveted crown and a cash prize of $40,000.
Shemmy J placed second with “Even If She Crying,” amassing 383 points. Tension claimed third place with “Actimo” on 361.5 points, while Sedale, Hollywood HP and Deevon finished fourth with “Bring Your Cooler,” earning 344 points.
The Groovy Soca Monarch competition was equally competitive, with Kisha Kay delivering a historic performance. Her song “Done” secured 388 points, placing her just one point ahead of runner-up Deevon, whose performance of “Momentum” earned 387 points. Along with claiming her maiden Groovy Soca Monarch title, Kisha Kay etched her name into the history books as the first female artiste to capture the Groovy Soca Monarch crown. The victory also came with a $40,000 cash prize.
Deevon’s second-place finish marked an impressive debut in the competition. Imran Nerdy secured third place with “Fete Ah Opening” on 385 points, while Arthur Allain placed fourth with “Work on Pause,” scoring 368 points.
The results highlighted the intensely competitive nature of this year’s competition, with both monarch titles decided by the narrowest of margins. The event drew soca fans from across the island and served as one of the major highlights of the 2026 Saint Lucia Carnival season.
