Soufriere Residents Welcome Increased Police Presence Amid Firearm Concerns

Soufrière residents embrace heavy police presence in the community following reports of increased firearm activity.

Saint Lucia Daily Post has confirmed that the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) executed multiple search warrants in Soufrière on Wednesday, February 19.

This resulted in the arrest of two individuals for the illegal possession of a firearm.

Later that day, the newly commissioned Police Mobile Unit was seen throughout the community, to the delight of residents.

Authorities have not released the identities of the individuals taken into custody or provided further details on the seized items. Investigations are ongoing.

The RSLPF has urged members of the public to report any suspicious activity as part of continued efforts to address crime and ensure public safety.
