The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) has appointed Miran Louis as its new Technical Director, placing him at the centre of efforts to strengthen player development, coaching and the wider technical structure of football across the island.
Louis officially assumed the position on September 1 and will provide strategic direction for the SLFA’s technical programmes, working across multiple levels of the sport.
His mandate includes player development, coaching education, talent identification and grassroots football, with a particular focus on strengthening pathways for emerging players. He will also support the development of referees and other technical personnel.
Louis is expected to work closely with the SLFA Executive Committee, national and club coaches, technical staff and other football stakeholders to develop and implement programmes aimed at raising standards across the sport.
SLFA President Lyndon Cooper described the Technical Director position as critical to the Association’s development agenda, saying Louis’ appointment is expected to help strengthen technical programmes while creating greater opportunities for players and coaches.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Miran Louis to the position of Technical Director,” Cooper said, adding that the Association believes the appointment “will contribute significantly to the continued advancement of football.”
The appointment comes as the SLFA continues efforts to build a more structured football development system, from the grassroots level through to national programmes.
The Association said it expects Louis to bring leadership, professionalism and technical expertise to the role while building on the work of technical personnel who have contributed to the development of Saint Lucian football.
