Nine people were injured in a two-vehicle collision along the Millennium Highway on Friday afternoon, with firefighters forced to extricate one driver from the wreckage.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service said emergency crews responded to the collision at approximately 1:50 p.m., where they found nine people involved across the two vehicles.
One vehicle was occupied by a lone driver who had to be extricated by firefighters. The individual sustained minor lacerations and abrasions to the lower extremities. The second vehicle was carrying eight people, all of whom sustained minor injuries about the body.
Fire Service personnel treated the injured at the scene before transporting all nine people to a medical facility for further medical care.
No serious injuries were reported in the initial assessment. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately disclosed.
