A man was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries following a violent altercation with another man in Babonneau on Sunday, shortly after the community’s J’ouvert celebrations had ended.
Video footage of the incident and the aftermath show one of the men sustained serious injuries to the head during the altercation. He was subsequently transported to hospital for medical treatment.
Details surrounding what sparked the confrontation remain unclear, and the condition of the injured man was not immediately available. Police have also not publicly disclosed whether the alleged perpetrator was detained or whether any arrests have been made as investigations into the incident continue.
Aside from the altercation, Inspector Leroy Charles who worked that the Babonneau Carnival event, said the festivities were largely incident free.
