Parliamentary Representative for Micoud North, Jeremiah Norbert, has expressed deep sorrow and called for unity and reflection following the fatal stabbing of a young man from the constituency on Saturday evening.
The deceased, who has been identified as 34 year old Jamail Jonas aka “Bull,” is said to have sustained a stab wound during an altercation with someone well known to him.

The incident, which has sent shockwaves throughout the community, has left residents grieving and renewed concerns about violence involving young people.
In a statement issued in the aftermath of the tragedy, Norbert described the loss as deeply painful for the families involved and the wider community. “Today, our hearts are heavy. We mourn the tragic loss of a young man from our community, taken far too soon in circumstances that have shaken us all,” Norbert said. “This is a painful moment for the families involved, for their children, and for every resident who calls this community home.”
Norbert noted that both individuals involved were young members of the community, underscoring the devastating impact of the incident and the urgent need for collective action. “Both individuals were young members of our community, and this tragedy reminds us of how fragile life is and how urgently we must recommit ourselves to peace, conflict resolution, and protecting our young people from cycles of hurt and violence,” he stated.
The Micoud North MP extended his condolences to the grieving family and acknowledged the emotional toll the incident has taken on the community. “My deepest condolences go out to the grieving family, especially the children left behind. I also extend compassion to all those affected by this heartbreaking situation,” Norbert added.
Norbert also called on residents to stand together during this difficult time, urging unity rather than division. “Let us stand together in this difficult time, not divided by anger, but united in prayer, reflection, and a shared commitment to building a safer, stronger community for all,” he said.
The fatal stabbing has cast a somber mood over the Micoud North community, as residents grapple with the loss and reflect on the importance of peace, mentorship, and community support for young people.
