CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA — A man is dead following a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday evening in Marchand, Castries.
According to law enforcement sources, a call for assistance was received at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Saint Lucia Fire Service responded around 9:50 p.m., but despite efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead at a medical facility.
In a separate but possibly related incident, another man was stabbed in the same area on Sunday night. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the two violent incidents are connected. The stabbing victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Investigations into both the Marchand shooting and stabbing are ongoing. Residents are urged to remain vigilant as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the violence in the community.
