Jacmel, Saint Lucia — April 4th, 2025
A man is recovering at a medical facility after he was shot in Jacmel on Thursday evening while reportedly trying to prevent the theft of his horses.
According to preliminary police reports, officers from the Anse La Raye Police Station responded to the scene of the shooting around 7:00 p.m. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, sustained gunshot wounds to the torso during the incident.
Early investigations suggest the man confronted an individual—or individuals—attempting to steal his horses when he was shot. He was later rushed to a medical institution for urgent treatment.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the condition of the victim or whether any suspects have been apprehended. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has launched an investigation into the incident.
