Must Read

CHOISEUL, Saint Lucia – What began as an attempted murder investigation has now escalated to a murder case, following the death of a 62-year-old Choiseul resident who was brutally attacked earlier this year.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) confirmed that charges against Vaughn Mark and Kendal Sansion have been upgraded from attempted murder to murder, after the victim, Vernon Labadie of Industry, Choiseul, succumbed to his injuries on February 21, 2025.

Labadie was the victim of a violent chopping incident reported on January 31, 2025, in Industry, Choiseul. Both suspects were arrested shortly after and initially charged with attempted murder.

However, following Labadie’s passing, investigators revisited the case. On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, both Mark and Sansion were formally charged with murder and escorted to the Second District Court. They have since been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

Police have not yet revealed additional details about the incident or any possible motive, but investigations are ongoing.

The RSLPF urges anyone with further information to come forward.
