RSLPF Recovers Weapon, Vieux Fort Operation

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the Southern Division of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) conducted an exercise known as the Pre-Holiday Sweep. Seven (7) Warrants to Search for Property were executed, one (1) firearm was recovered.

Law enforcement officials targeted key locations, including Cantonement, Grace, Bruceville, and Clarke Street in Vieux-Fort. During a search conducted in Cantonement, officers discovered and seized an illegally possessed firearm. One (1) male occupant of the premises was arrested.

This individual was identified as twenty-nine-year-old (29) Cornelius Evans of Cantonement, Vieux-Fort. Cornelius Evans was charged with Possession of a Firearm on Friday, December 20, 2024, and was taken before the Second District Court for bail.

The court granted bail in the sum of twenty thousand dollars (XCD 20,000.00), either in cash or with a suitable surety.
