Barbadian Cultural Ambassador and calypso legend The Most Honourable Anthony ‘Mighty Gabby’ Carter has been formally charged with a sex-related offence and is set to appear in court today (Friday).
Authorities confirmed that the nine-time Pic-O-De-Crop monarch was arrested Thursday night following an investigation by the Sex Crimes Unit at the District “D” Police Station in Cane Garden, St. Thomas. The charge stems from a complaint made last year by the mother of a teenage girl.
On Thursday, a senior police official revealed that Carter had been questioned in connection with the allegations before being taken into custody.
