Young Mother Gunned Down in Corinth: Police Investigate Shocking Daylight Murder

CORINTH, ST. LUCIA –  Gun violence has rocked the community of Corinth as a young mother is shot and killed in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Alana Bernard, a mother of three, whose untimely death has left residents in shock and mourning.

Reports indicate that Bernard was walking along the Corinth road heading home from work when a vehicle pulled up next to her. One individual exited the vehicle and subsequently shot the now deceased woman in the head. 

Authorities who are still working the scene collecting evidence have yet to determine the motive behind the fatal shooting. However law enforcement officials confirm that an active investigation is underway. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over public safety, as violent crime continues to plague communities across the island.

Just Monday, gunfire broke out in a section of the city in what is believed to have been a family dispute. A number of vehicles were damaged by the bullets.

Tuesday’s shooting marks yet another devastating loss to gun violence, leaving behind three young children now forced to grow up without their mother.
