Black Mallet Shooting: 15-Year-Old Among Two Dead, One Critical in Thursday Night Gun Attack

CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA — Six people were shot — two fatally — during a brazen gun attack in the Black Mallet community on Thursday evening, in what residents are calling one of the area’s most shocking outbreaks of violence in recent memory.

Among the deceased is a 15-year-old boy who was among the wounded taken to hospital but later died there. One man was pronounced dead on the scene. One other male victim remains in critical condition, while three others — including two women — sustained injuries and are currently hospitalized in stable condition.

According to early reports, gunfire erupted shortly after 11pm sending the community into chaos. 

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has launched a full investigation into the incident. The identities of the victims have not been confirmed, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time.
