D’Vibes Ignites Lucian Carnival 2025 with Unmatched Celebration of Dennery Segment Music

Must Read

Castries, Saint Lucia — Lucian Carnival 2025 roared to life with the groundbreaking debut of D’Vibes, a high-energy concert that paid homage to Saint Lucia’s most iconic sound — Dennery Segment music. Held on Wednesday, July 8 at the National Cultural Centre, the show marked a defining moment in the island’s cultural calendar and solidified its place as a must-attend event each carnival season.

The event, which spotlighted the roots and global rise of the genre birthed in Dennery, brought together over 20 local artistes and a lineup of the island’s hottest DJs. The stage was set ablaze by performances from Bronxx & Mata, Gigi, Chester, Kelly B, Cooyah, L.T., Malfete, Prospere, MKG, Tension Boyz, Subance, Pablo, Kisha, Carlto, Keke, Prado, Dhirv, Blackboy, Motto, Ezra D’FunMachine, Narcisse & Krome, Jardel & Dezral, and Umpa. Backing the artistes were powerhouse DJs including JH and Dalo, Cleus, Prostyle, Sir Lancealot, and HP — all delivering back-to-back sets that kept the crowd moving.

Tamara Gibson, Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC), emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “D’Vibes embodies two of our most important pillars for Lucian Carnival — inclusivity and cultural development. Dennery Segment is part of our Saint Lucian identity. By giving it this platform during a time where the genre is most critical to our carnival, ensures that we see even more music emerging from the artists throughout the year.”

Gibson added that shows like D’Vibes are a key investment in Saint Lucia’s homegrown talent and help to preserve the authentic flavour of Lucian Carnival.

With its electric energy, impeccable performances, and celebration of Saint Lucian culture, D’Vibes has firmly earned its spot on the annual Lucian Carnival calendar, setting a new benchmark for musical showcases during the festive season.

The excitement continues as the next major event on the Lucian Carnival Calendar is the Inter-commercial House Competition, scheduled for Thursday, July 10 at 8 PM, once again at the National Cultural Centre. Twenty companies will go head-to-head for the coveted title, promising another exhilarating night of fun, creativity, and island pride.
