Castries, Saint Lucia — The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has confirmed the identity of the victim in the fatal Arundell Hill shooting that occurred during the early hours of Saturday, July 5, 2025.
The deceased has been identified as Deland Lucien, a 25-year-old resident of Faux-A-Chaux, Castries. Police officers from the Marchand Police Station responded to the report of a shooting at approximately 1:55 a.m. on Arundell Hill. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that two individuals had sustained gunshot wounds. Lucien was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The Major Crimes Unit is currently spearheading the investigation into this homicide. The RSLPF has since increased police presence in the area and surrounding communities in a bid to deter further criminal activity and provide reassurance to the public.
In a statement issued following the incident, the RSLPF emphasized its commitment to public safety, declaring that no resources will be spared in the pursuit of those responsible for this violent act. The police also appealed to the public for assistance in their investigation.
