Police Pursue Leads in Fatal Shooting of 18-Year-Old Jhanick Jn. Phillip

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jhanick Jn. Phillip, who was gunned down in New Village, Castries late Monday night.

The incident occurred around 11:24 p.m. on June 30, 2025. Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force responded to reports of gunfire in the area. When they arrived, they were informed that the victim had already been rushed to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU) by private transport.

Jn. Phillip, a resident of Morne Du Don, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical examiner shortly after 2 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1.

Police say they are actively pursuing leads in the case and urge anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be directed to the CID at 456-3770 or 456-3718. Anonymous reports may also be made via the 555 crime hotline or the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.

Authorities are calling on the public’s cooperation to help bring those responsible to justice.
