St. Lucia Boxing Association Deepens Ties with Cuba

CubaCastries, Saint Lucia – In a move to strengthen bilateral sporting ties, the St. Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) has reaffirmed its longstanding relationship with the Republic of Cuba.

At the invitation of Her Excellency Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares, Cuban Ambassador to Saint Lucia, SLBA President and 1st Vice President Shannon Lebourne paid a courtesy visit to the Cuban Embassy. They were joined by Cuban Specialist Boxing Coach Yunior Quintero and Senior Sports Officer Mr. Dane Magloire.

Cuba and Saint Lucia share a deep-rooted history of friendship and collaboration, particularly in the field of sports development. During the visit, officials discussed mutual areas of interest and future plans for technical cooperation in boxing.

“Today, we reaffirmed our commitment as friends of Cuba and explored strategic opportunities to enhance boxing in Saint Lucia,” said a statement from the SLBA. “Cuba’s global success in boxing continues to inspire us, and we are excited to learn from their rich legacy.”

Officials hinted at major developments and strategic targets set to be unveiled in the coming weeks, aimed at boosting the technical and competitive standards of local boxing.
