A resident of La Pointe, Choiseul, has been formally charged with murder in connection with the death of Ken Joseph Ismael, also known as Joseph Hippolyte, following a coordinated police operation that drew on significant public support.

On March 20, 2025, officers from the Choiseul Police Station responded to reports of a suspicious death at Tet Rouge, Industry. The discovery prompted a swift and thorough investigation, resulting in multiple joint police operations across land and sea.

The efforts culminated on Tuesday, March 25, when the suspect was apprehended during a maritime and ground operation involving officers from the Soufrière Police Station. He was taken into custody and is currently receiving medical care under police supervision.

In a statement, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force extended its gratitude to the residents of Choiseul for their “tremendous support and outreach,” noting that the arrest would not have been possible without the public’s cooperation.

On Friday, March 28, the suspect, Rohan Jn Baptiste, was officially charged with the offence of murder. He has since been remanded to the Bordelaise Correctional Facility and is scheduled to reappear in court on May 8, 2025.
