An eighteen-year-old has been formally charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Linus Delice, whose death on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, has left the Riviere Mitan, Monchy community in deep mourning.
Police have confirmed that Nirron Delice, of Valerie Lorde Avenue, Riviere Mitan, Monchy, Gros Islet, was arrested on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and charged with murder as investigations into the incident progressed.
He appeared before the First District Court via Zoom on Tuesday, December 7, 2025, where he was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, when he will appear before the High Court for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, residents of Riviere Mitan gathered for a candlelight vigil in memory of Linus Delice. Community members described him as a mentor, leader, and positive influence, a guiding figure for many young men in the area whose presence, they say, helped keep the community grounded.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing as the case continues through the judicial process.
