Saint Lucia Awaits New K9 Officer Following Death of Beloved Police Dog Tyson

On Monday, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre confirmed that the French ambassador has made an official request to the French government on the island’s behalf.

The anticipated addition comes after the loss of K9 officer Tyson at the end of June this year.

Pierre, speaking on the matter, expressed gratitude to France for its continued support and announced that French Ambassador, Francis Etienne, had made a request for an additional K9 for the country.

“He has made an official request to the French government for another canine. An official request has gone to the French government for another canine.”

K9 officer Tyson, remembered for his loyal service in crime detection and drug interdiction, played a key role in several high-profile operations during his short stint in the RSLPF.

Pierre noted that the new canine would help build on Tyson’s legacy, ensuring that the RSLPF remains well-equipped to tackle crime and safeguard communities.
