Must Read

Police have confirmed two dead and others injured in separate brazen shootings in Castries on August 16th. 2025.

These incidents have heightened concerns and fears among citizens.

Crime Prevention Minister Jeremiah Norbert on Sunday, at the SLP’s Youth Rally in Denmery, condemned the acts.

“Saturday hit differently; we have a few young people in this country who believe that they are emboldened, who can take to the streets and that there are no laws for them. Saint Lucia is a country of law and order. We have a responsibility to not only denounce it but to take action,” the Minister said.

Norbert also called on friends and family members of criminal perpetrators to hold them accountable.

“Those individuals…are peoples sons and cousins; those of us, when they come among them, we know who they are and what they have done.”

The Minister also assured immediate measures to return law and order.

“This country is not a criminal playground…in the coming days, you’ll see the increased presence of police. The police have our full support.”

Police say one man is in custody thus far.
