Law enforcement officers have recovered two illegal firearms during separate operations conducted Thursday, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.
One of the firearms was seized during a day-long traffic operation led by the Department of Road Safety. During the exercise, officers intercepted a vehicle with two male occupants. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a firearm, and both individuals were taken into custody.
The second firearm was recovered by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department during a targeted search at a suspect’s residence. The operation was linked to a report of assault with a firearm. One individual was arrested in connection with the investigation.
All three suspects remain in custody as police continue their investigations.
