GROS-ISLET, Saint Lucia – June 10, 2025 — Authorities are investigating the death of a man discovered early Monday morning on Chapel Street in Gros-Islet under unusual and tragic circumstances.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service responded to an emergency call at approximately 6:09 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders found an adult male lying in a prone position. The individual was unresponsive and showed no signs of life. A medical assessment confirmed that the man had sustained a fatal injury to the throat, reportedly caused by a tree stump. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.
While the identity of the deceased has not been officially released, unofficial reports suggest that the man was known in the community and often referred to himself as the “President of the Vagrant Association.”
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
