RSLPF Launches Probe into Homicide at Corinth, Gros Islet

About 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Gros Islet Police Station was referred a report of a fatal shooting at Corinth, Gros Islet, following a foiled Robbery attempt.

It was reported that two males entered a bar, where they brandished firearms, making demands of the patrons therein. 

Two licensed firearm holders (both law enforcement officials) who were present confronted the two men. One of the males was fatally wounded during the encounter. 

The deceased who was observed to have sustained an apparent gunshot injury to the chest, has been formally identified as 20-year-old Alex Straker. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a subsequent date.
