No Plans for Nude Tourism Expansion, Says Minister Hilaire

Must Read

Castries, Saint Lucia – Saint Lucia’s Tourism Minister, Dr. Ernest Hilaire, has firmly stated that there is no official plan to expand the island’s tourism sector to include nude tourism. His comments come in response to social media videos showing a catamaran carrying what appeared to be a large group of nude tourists, reportedly heading to a local beach that has been gaining popularity among visitors.

Addressing the issue this week, Hilaire clarified that the government has made no policy decision to target this niche market. He further emphasized that public nudity remains an offense under Saint Lucian law and called on law enforcement to ensure the regulations are upheld.

“There has been no decision or effort to promote nude tourism in Saint Lucia,” Hilaire asserted. “Public nudity is still against the law, and those laws must be enforced.

”The incident has sparked debate about the evolving dynamics of the island’s tourism offerings, with concerns raised over the legal and cultural implications. Authorities are now under pressure to address the matter and clarify the extent of enforcement measures moving forward.
