Soufriere Sets Cruise Tourism Milestone with Historic Four-Vessel Docking

Must Read

(Soufriere, Saint Lucia, February 7, 2025) – Soufriere’s cruise tourism industry continues to surge as the arrival of four luxury vessels—Evrima of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Royal Clipper of Star Clippers, Emerald Sakara of Emerald Cruises, and Sea Cloud of Sea Cloud Cruises—marks a historic moment for the west coast town. The simultaneous docking on Friday, February 7, 2025, transformed the Soufriere Waterfront into a vibrant hub of activity, setting a new benchmark in Saint Lucia’s cruise sector.

This milestone follows Soufriere’s first major breakthrough on January 14, 2025, when three vessels called on its shores, signaling the town’s growing prominence as a sought-after cruise destination. On this latest record-breaking day, 423 passengers and 499 crew members were immersed in Soufriere’s breathtaking scenery, rich cultural heritage, and world-famous attractions like the Pitons and Sulphur Springs.

Saint Lucia Cruise Port, in partnership with the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation, ensured that visitors enjoyed an authentic Caribbean experience with a live steel pan band entertaining guests throughout the day. Lancelot Arnold, General Manager of Saint Lucia Cruise Port, emphasized the broader vision behind this success: “Saint Lucia Cruise Port is committed to making Saint Lucia a premier cruise destination and working with all our stakeholders in transforming the cruise sector of Saint Lucia’s tourism product. This means more opportunities for our local artisans, tour operators, and taxi drivers. The simultaneous arrival of now four vessels in Soufriere represents this journey for Saint Lucia.”

The expansion of Soufriere’s cruise tourism underscores the collaborative efforts of Saint Lucia Cruise Port, the Government of Saint Lucia, the Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority, and the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation in promoting sustainable growth and enhancing local infrastructure. With each milestone, the town strengthens its position as a must-visit cruise port, driving economic benefits for businesses and the wider community.
