28-Year-Old Killed After Lexus Slams Into Wall in Vieux Fort

An early-morning crash along the St Jude Highway has claimed the life of a 28-year-old Vieux Fort man after the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a concrete wall.

Police say the deceased has been identified as Meshack Frederick of La Ressource, Vieux Fort.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026. According to police, officers attached to the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to the incident. Initial investigations indicate that a black Lexus motorcar veered off the roadway before striking a concrete wall.

Four people three males and one female were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. All four occupants were transported by ambulance to the St Jude Hospital for medical treatment. But police say Frederick later succumbed to his injuries.

Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the condition of the other three occupants or what may have caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash are continuing.
