American singer, songwriter, actress and television personality Kandi Burruss has revealed that she is preparing for Saint Lucia Carnival 2026 after receiving an invitation to participate in the festivities.
In a Facebook video posted on Tuesday, Burruss shared her excitement with fans as she took part in a dance class to prepare for the road march, revealing that she will be joining the world-famous Legends Carnival Band.
Introducing the video, Burruss explained that the dance lesson was part of her Carnival preparations.
“Well, Jamie then talked me into doing a dance class to get ready for the carnival that we’re going to in St. Lucia,” she said. “Now, I can give you a little 1-2 dance move, but they claim I’m gonna get to 3-4, so 1-2-3-4.”
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star admitted she still has some concerns about being Carnival-ready, joking about balancing preparations with enjoying life.
“I don’t know if I’m ready for this costume. I’ve been eating good, living my best life,” she said with a laugh.
Burruss went on to confirm that she had been invited to the island for the annual celebration and expressed her enthusiasm about taking part.
“I’m going to the carnival in Saint Lucia. Saint Lucia has invited me to come celebrate,” she said. “I will be joining the world-famous Legends Band. Had to make sure I have all my moves locked down. Tighten up, you know.”
Looking ahead to her visit, Burruss encouraged revellers to get ready for the festivities.
“Get ready. Can’t wait to see everyone there. I’ll see you in Saint Lucia.”
Leader of Legends Carnival Band, Zinaida Macnamara, welcomed Burruss’ decision to join the band, saying her participation reflects the growing international appeal of Saint Lucia Carnival.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kandi Burruss for Saint Lucia Carnival 2026. Having someone of her international profile choose to experience our Carnival with us speaks volumes about the quality of the product we’ve built over the years. Carnival is about culture, creativity and bringing people together, and we look forward to giving her, and all of our revellers, an unforgettable experience on the road.”
Public Relations Manager at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Geraine Georges, said celebrity and influencer participation continues to provide valuable global exposure for the destination while showcasing the island’s authentic culture.
“When personalities like Kandi Burruss choose Saint Lucia Carnival, it reinforces the destination’s growing reputation as one of the Caribbean’s premier summer festivals. Beyond the excitement, these visits introduce millions of people around the world to our rich culture, our music, our people and the unique experiences that Saint Lucia has to offer. It is the kind of organic promotion that inspires more visitors to choose Saint Lucia not only for Carnival, but throughout the year.”
Saint Lucia Carnival, one of the Caribbean’s premier summer festivals, attracts thousands of local and international revellers each year with its colourful costumes, infectious music and vibrant celebrations. The Parade of the Bands is scheduled for July 20 and 21, when thousands of masqueraders are expected to take to the streets of Castries in a spectacular display of costumes, music and revelry.
