The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has intensified its efforts to address the recent surge in gun violence within the Marc community. In response to growing concerns from residents and reports indicating the presence of illegal firearms, the RSLPF has increased police presence and operational activities in the area.
Yesterday January 23, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM, officers of the Special Operations Team conducted a search operation in a heavily vegetated area in Marc, Bexon. This operation resulted in the recovery of a Glock 9×19 pistol with the serial number removed, along with a magazine containing ten (10) rounds of 9mm ammunition. The firearm was equipped with an auto sear, making it capable of fully automatic fire.
This recovery is a significant step in the RSLPF’s efforts to reduce gun violence and restore peace within affected communities. The presence of such a weapon posed a serious threat to public safety, and its removal is a testament to the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to safeguarding citizens.
The RSLPF urges all members of the Marc community to assist in the ongoing investigation by providing any information that could lead to the recovery of additional illegal weapons or the identification of individuals involved in criminal activities.
