At least three individuals are currently receiving emergency treatment at the Owen King European Union Hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in a brazen midday shooting in Leslie Land on Wednesday.
Preliminary reports indicate that gunfire rang out in the community shortly before noon. The injured men have been identified as 18 year old Cassius Maxius, 30 year old Leslie Peter, and 34 year old Joel Nelson. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. They all sustained injuries to the lower extremity.
Medical personnel are said to be attending to the victims in the hospital’s emergency unit, though their conditions have not been disclosed at this time.
Law enforcement officials have since launched an active investigation into the shooting as they work to determine the motive behind the shooting. However speculation is rife that this could have been a botched robbery.
