Saint Lucia’s Porcia Gustave Crowned Miss Plus World

Must Read

Saint Lucian educator and pageant queen Porcia Gustave has captured the international Miss Plus World title, marking a historic achievement for Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean.

Gustave, who resides in Chase Gardens, Castries, emerged victorious in a highly competitive contest featuring plus-size women from across the globe. Her win has sparked widespread celebration locally and throughout the Caribbean.

Speaking with Saint Lucia Daily Post, Gustave described the moment her name was called as “surreal and humbling.” “I remember hearing the cheers and quietly saying ‘thank you, God,’” she said, noting that the support from Saint Lucia and the region has been overwhelming.

She said the victory represents more than a crown, describing it as a personal journey of healing, self-belief, and affirmation.

“Winning Miss Plus World as a Saint Lucian woman sends a powerful message that our confidence, culture, and stories belong on global stages,” Gustave said.

Gustave hopes her achievement will inspire young girls struggling with body image and self-esteem, emphasizing that confidence is not defined by size.

Preparation for the competition included physical training, wardrobe planning, mock interviews, and mental conditioning. She credited her chaperone, Richard Ambrose, for his support throughout the process.

As Miss Plus World, Gustave plans to focus her reign on body positivity, mental health awareness, and youth and women empowerment, while also promoting Saint Lucia internationally.

“Saint Lucia is small, but our talent and resilience are mighty,” she said.
