Anse La Raye are the new kings of the Super League following a comanding 3 – 0 performance against Vieux Fort North. They lifted the 2025 Super League title in emphatic fashion in front of a roaring, capacity crowd on Saturday night, at the Francis Baba Lastic Grounds in Gros Islet.
From the opening whistle, Anse La Raye fed off the electric energy inside the venue. Their intent was clear early, when it took only 13 minutes to break through. Hanson Frederick produced a composed finish staking an early claim on the championship. The feat set Anse La Raye supporters alight.
VF North, however, refused to fold. They battled through the intense half which delivered tackles, tension and everything a final should. Anse La Raye carried their 1–0 advantage into the break, as the match remained delicately poised.
When the second half resumed, the momentum shifted further. In the 65th minute, Sagat Ferdinand struck a crucial second goal on a penalty, tightening Anse La Raye’s grip on the title and leaving VF North with a steeper uphill battle.
As the clock ticked down and VF North pushed bodies forward in search of a lifeline, Anse La Raye delivered the definitive blow. Nangee Phillip sealed the victory in the 88th minute with a clinical finish that triggered scenes of pure euphoria in the stands. Fans leapt, chanted, and the stadium atmosphere erupted into pandemonium as the champions-in-waiting completed their masterpiece before the final whistle blew.
The triumph caps off a dramatic storyline after the original finale which was abandoned due to heavy rains in Soufriere last week left fans hungry for a decisive showdown. On the replayed grand stage, Anse La Raye rose to the moment and left no doubt about their pedigree.
In addition to the championship trophy they take home $30k cash winnings. The second place finishers VF North received prize winnings of $20k. The National U20 captured the tournaments 3rd Place.
