Law enforcement authorities are escalating efforts to stem the illegal entry of firearms and narcotics into Saint Lucia, following yet another breach at one of the island’s ports of entry. On Friday, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force issued three warrants of arrest for a Boguis man now at the centre of a high-stakes drug investigation.

The Gangs, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit (GNFU) has issued warrants for Joshua Son of Boguis, who is wanted for:
* Importation of Controlled Drugs
* Possession of Controlled Drugs
* Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply
According to SLASPA and Customs sources, Son escaped the port moments after the barrel he was clearing was found to contain drugs. Officers made attempts to apprehend him on site, but he managed to evade the teams stationed at the facility. His escape triggered an immediate alert and expanded law enforcement presence at the port.
Investigators believe the discovery is tied to a wider operation targeting criminal networks responsible for smuggling narcotics and illegal firearms into the country, an operation that has intensified amid a series of recent seizures.
Police are now appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Joshua Son is urged to contact the nearest police station, the GNFU, the Crime Hotline at 555, or submit information via the Crime Hotline App. Authorities stress that all tips will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Senior security officials say the crackdown will continue aggressively, noting that the flow of illegal guns and drugs poses a direct threat to national security and community safety.
