Courts Optical Saint Lucia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, joined the global celebration of World Sight Day 2025 under the theme “Love Your Eyes.”
The event highlighted the importance of protecting vision health and reinforced Courts Optical’s commitment to making professional and affordable eye care accessible to everyone.
The official press launch, held on Thursday, October 9th, featured remarks from Ron Isidore, Brand Manager at Courts Optical, along with Dr. Chibueze Onyelucheya, OECS Head Optometrist, Courts Optical and Mr. Cyrus Cepal, representing the Ministry of Education.
In his address, Mr. Isidore spoke on the connection between vision and opportunity. “Good vision isn’t just about seeing clearly. It’s about being able to learn, work, and live fully. It’s about giving people confidence, independence, and opportunity. At Courts Optical, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality eye care, and that belief has been at the heart of everything we do.”
Through its Brighter View Corporate Social Responsibility program, Courts Optical has provided free vision screenings and prescription glasses to hundreds of students across Saint Lucia. This year, the company expanded its outreach by partnering with the Ministry of Education to identify five students from each district who will receive free eye examinations, prescription lenses, and ongoing care.
Recognizing the important role of educators and public servants, Courts Optical also announced a special offer of 35% off lenses for teachers, public service employees, and students. The offer, available at all Courts Optical branches, is part of the company’s ongoing mission to make quality eye care more affordable and accessible.
“We understand the sacrifices our teachers and students make every day,” Mr. Isidore added. “This is our way of saying thank you by helping them take care of one of their most precious tools: their sight.”
Representing the Ministry of Education, Mr. Cyrus Cepal expressed his appreciation for the initiative. “What you are presenting here today, we are going to accept it with all hands. This partnership will go a long way in ensuring that our students and teachers receive the vision care they truly deserve.”
Courts Optical’s in-store World Sight Day activities continued through Friday, featuring free eye care consultations, giveaways, and special Eye Candy deals such as frames starting at $99. Customers also enjoyed small treats as a token of appreciation.
World Sight Day serves as an important reminder that caring for our eyes should be a lifelong priority. As Mr. Isidore concluded, “When we care for our eyes, we’re caring for how we experience the world — how we see beauty, how we see opportunity, and how we see each other.”
