Lady Lee Criticizes Dr. Anthony’s Legacy in Election Bid

Must Read

Leanna “Lady Lee” Johannes-Paul, the United Workers Party (UWP) candidate for Vieux-Fort North, has called on voters to scrutinize the legacy of former Prime Minister and sitting MP Dr. Kenny Anthony, questioning the credentials of his chosen successor, Danny Butcher.

Johannes-Paul, speaking to supporters, highlighted what she described as decades of “broken promises” in the constituency.

“Fifteen years being a prime minister, this is the legacy of Dr. Kenny  Anthony. And now they have been told to embrace the student, his protege. Is that someone you will rely on? I don’t think so. That should send chills down the spine of every Vieux-Fortian who has lived through decades of unfulfilled promises,” she said.

She criticized Butcher for what she sees as inaction on major development projects. “Does Mr. Butcher think that we Vieux-Fortians don’t deserve a cruise port and the employment and development that goes with it? Why then did he not stand up for us and condemn the GPH deal that forbids any cruise poet development in the South? He was the campaign manager. All the bright visions being seen now, why weren’t they pursued back then?”

Johannes-Paul also called attention to local infrastructure, citing the absence of a proper bus terminal.

“Why, after 28 years of him being a key player in Dr. Anthony’s campaign camp, has he not agitated or even persuaded him to build a bus terminal to give bus drivers a safe space to operate with dignity?”

Her remarks underscore a campaign focused on holding political leaders accountable and urging constituents to weigh past performance when making their choice in the upcoming election.
