Castries, Saint Lucia – A Saturday morning shooting along Jeremie Street has left one man dead and two others injured in what police believe to be gang-related violence.

The deceased has been identified as Jamie Williams, a 25-year-old resident of Morne Du Don. He was gunned down shortly after 10 a.m. on August 16, as crowds filled the bustling Castries market area.
According to police, three people were shot during the attack. The two other victims, believed to be bystanders, were rushed to hospital for medical treatment. Their current condition has not yet been disclosed.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and investigators have yet to determine a motive.
Police have confirmed that the matter is under active investigation and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
